It is made with a wheat flour dough or potato dough and then traditionally stuffed with cooked and shredded chicken meat. Some versions have a cream cheese in the center. The coxinha is then shaped as rain drops, covered in bread crumbs and then fried in hot fat.

The Brigadeiro is served in almost all the children’s parties and even in weddings. The ingredients of brigadeiro are condensed milk, chocolate powder, butter and granulated chocolate for the topping. It can be made both on the stove and in the microwave oven.

This Brazilian dish came from the state of Minas Gerais and is speculated to have been created in the eighteenth century, but has become more popular throughout Brazil since the 1950s.
There are several different recipes were the ingredients and the type of cheese vary a lot – as well as the end result. Some use sweet sprinkles, some sour, or even both. But what gives its main characteristic is the fact it`s made from cassava starch and cheese.

Pastel is a food composed of a dough based on flour and shaped like an envelope. It is filled with ingredients of your choosing and then fried in boiling oil. It is Brazil`s most popular fast food and is sold everywhere from street carts to beach bars.
5. Mousse de Maracujá (passion fruit)

This mousse dessert originated in France but Brazil modified it slightly by adding passion fruit and it has become hugely popular.
The basic ingredients are sour cream, condensed milk and concentrated passion fruit juice or fresh fruit juice.
6. Bolinho de Chuva

Translated this dish is called rain cake and is a tradition dish in both Portugal and Brazil. It is made from wheat flour, eggs, milk and baking yeast (and sometimes chopped fruits). The cakes are fried in hot oil and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar after.

Quindim is a dessert that has ingredients like egg yolk, sugar and grated coconut. The recipe that uses grated coconut originates in the Brazilian northeast, different from the Portuguese recipe, known as Lis-breeze, which instead of grated coconut uses almonds.
8. Moqueca de Camarão

This Brazilian dish is a sort of fish stew. It`s made from boneless fish, coconut milk, tomatoes, onions, garlic, coriander and some palm oil (dendê). It is slowly cooked in a terracotta casserole dish and served with with prawns.

Feijoada is Brazil`s most famous dish, it consists of black beans, various types of pork, sausage and beef. But what gives the delicious flavor is the smoked pork pieces. This dish is usually served with farofa and white rice.

Farofa is not a dish but an actually addition to a meal. It is made from a cassava flour mixture fried with butter, salt, sausage, olives, onions, garlic, hard-boiled eggs, and/or bacon. It is an essential accompaniment to feijoada and barbecues.
In Brazil, farofa is also used as a stuffing for poultry and other many other dishes.
