One of the best countries I’ve ever visited is Spain. It has wonderful towns, spectacular landscapes, beautiful people and fascinating bars and clubs to enjoy drinks with friends.
And although the main cities like Madrid, Barcelona or Bilbao will just give you a glimpse of this, I highly recommend some of the best towns to immerse in the most deep scene of the Spanish culture while you’re traveling:
Besalú belongs to the Catalonian province, right at the north part of Barcelona and it doesn’t have anything to envy to other cities in Spain. There’s an incredible medieval bridge, popular, traditional streets cobblestoned as in medieval times that gives you the feeling of being inside a fairytale. The Jewish part of the town is one of the most astonishing parts of Besalú, you can see the synagogues and the baths which is one of the most unique old spas surviving nowadays!
The city of Frigiliana is full of white, narrow streets that will make you take pictures of every corner in the city. This city is in the southern part of Spain, which means beautiful weather whenever you visit! Frigiliana is at the top 10 best places to visit in Spain due to its fascinating streets. It’s a city full of museums and amazing roof terraces where you will be able to enjoy tasty sangria and yummy tapas while enjoying its beautiful views!
This city is located at the vasque region of Spain, very near to the cities of San Sebastian, Bilbao and Vitoria. It’s one of the beautiful hidden places to visit if you come to the north of Spain. Lekeitio has an amazing old town with a Gothic church and its beaches are one of the best in the Vasque Country. If there’s something to highlight from Lekeitio is its great bars with the best food and plenty of pubs to enjoy some drinks with friends. I would recommend to visit the surrounding areas as well while you’re visiting this amazing city!
Ronda is one of the best towns in the south of Spain, it has a lot of history and culture to explore. The city is divided into two parts which connect through the old stone bridge across the mountains. The bridge is one the most impressive ones in the country which attract many tourist throughout the year. You can’t miss the Arabic baths which are one of the most amazing ones from the Roman Empire. If you visit the south, going to the amphitheater and exploring the Roman part of the city is a must!
This beautiful spot of the island of Mallorca doesn’t have to do with the well know drunken reputation that other cities in the island might have. Sóller is known for its beautiful beaches and hidden bays and it makes it perfect for a vacation break. It’s a spot near the city of Palma where you will be able to enjoy the best seafood and bars on the island while you’re sunbathing at one of the best beaches of the country!
Only a few mention to some of the best places to visit in the country, but of course there are also many other beautiful and interesting spots to immerse while you’re spending your holidays in Spain, so ¡Bienvenido a España!
