Abandoned Dog Had to Eat Branches And Stones to Survive

Meet Alex the abandoned dog was dumped in a forest and survived by eating branches and stones, thankfully he was rescued and survived but his story is quite remarkable.

Animal abandonment is a serious problem, causing damage to ecology, economy, public health and animal welfare. Just as many animals are loved by their guardians, others are simply dismissed as worthless goods. Roaming animals may suffer from hunger, malnutrition, parasites, disease, poisoning and other forms of abuse. But this story has a happy ending.

Alex the abandoned dog was found very thin on the edge of death.

Alex the abandoned dog was surviving by feeding on branches and stones, but fortunately he was rescued.

Since then the little canine has made a remarkable recovery. Best of all, he found an adoptive mother!

“When I met him, he was very thin and what attracted me to him was his scary, piercing eyes,” said Diane Lundeen.

“We saw a terrified and judicious dog that needed help and needed help fast,” said Deanna Theis, the assistant director of the Southern Animal Foundation. “Seeing the picture was one thing, seeing it in person was very emotional. When I caught him, I couldn’t help crying and feeling very sad for him, ”said the woman. “I hugged him and kissed him on the head and said he was fine now.”

“He was hesitant getting out of his shipping box. But when it came out, it immediately kicked my hand and started wagging its tail. ”

An x-ray revealed that the stomach was full of stones and branches.
It took emergency surgery to get her stomach back to normal. The poor animal was only 20 pounds, it would take a long term recovery period.

After some intensive care, he was taken by Diane, mother of two other dogs. “He gained 10 pounds in his first 10 days staying with me. This indicated that he would recover very quickly. ”

The abandoned dog that ate stones to survive today lives happily.

“I woke up with him in my bed with my head resting lightly on my chest. He loves his brother and sister. He is the peacekeeper in the family, so if the game gets too hard between baby and Anya, he intervenes. The three of them play with all the raucous new toys I bought, filling my living room with snow stuffing. ”

“We switched to rope toys that keep everyone happy. Tug-o-wars is a big favorite. Yesterday, Alex went to take his first pictures with Santa Claus in Petcetera and melted everyone’s heart. He is eating well and is very curious about the cats, so we are keeping them separate for now. ”

Despite all the suffering of this boy in the past, he is very happy today with his brother and his new mother. Luckily someone opened not only the doors of a house but also the doors of a heart to love this furry one.
