Spectacular Pictures Of The Stars From Yellowstone National Park

A Kansas photographer spent the night at Yellowstone and managed to take some incredible pictures of the Milky Way galaxy and as you can see the images came out amazing..

It is no secret that Yellowstone National Park is one of the most impressive on the planet, and that it was founded in 1872 in the United States. More and more tourists do not miss the opportunity to visit it to get carried away by its spectacular hot springs, its muddy areas, its concentration of geysers and its fauna.

The truth is that, over time, Yellowstone National Park has become one of the great tourist attractions in the United States.

The professional photographer David Lane spent four months camping out at Yellowstone National Park in order to get some amazing shots of the milky way and as you can see from his pictures below David’s patience paid off.

David Lane’s photos appeared on the Huffington Post and was classed as one of the best astronomical pictures of the year. His work has also been Nasa’s astronomy picture of the day six times.

This 58 year old Astrophotographer has been capturing images of the night sky since 2011 and his work just seems to be getting better and better. But these are no ordinary photos, David creates breathtaking effect by increasing the airglow saturation by 10% instead of decreasing it. There is quite a bit of skill involved and one picture can be made up from 16 combined shots.

Yellowstone Park is a nature reserve that was established back in 1872, it was the first national park in the world and covers around 3,472 square miles.

It has more than 300 active geysers, over 290 waterfalls and is home to hundreds of different species of wildlife. It has become a popular place with tourists and has been visited by over five million people.

The only downside is that the area is prone to earthquakes. Between one and three thousand tremors are felt annually in the Yellowstone park but it doesn`t put visitors off coming here.

Yellowstone National Park is a fun place to visit any time of year. In Spring there is an abundance of wildlife, roaring waterfalls and wild weather. Summer has it all but it is also the busiest time of year with huge crowds turning up to marvel the spectacular views the natural park has to offer. Fall is also a special time of year as the colors change and animals scurry about in preparation for the coming winter time. In Winter the park is often covered in snow making it a spectacular site to see.

Fun Fact: Yellowstone park actually sits atop one of the world’s biggest volcanoes in the world. A volcanic eruption that took place over half a million years ago left this Caldera which covers about a thousand square miles.

It is also home to the Grand Prismatic Spring which is the third largest hot spring in the world. It’s located in the Midway Geyser Basin and is 121 feet deep.

Yellowstone National Park is also home to the largest, free-roaming herd of bison in the world not to mention all the other wildlife at the park.

The Grand Geyser is the tallest geyser at Yellowstone National park. It explodes two times a day thrusting incredible jets of water 200 feet in the air. These powerful bursts can last up to twenty minutes.
